Crash Bandicoot 3

Back in 1998, Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped, left off right where Crash 2 left off in 1997.  Crash 2 was one of the best games ever made but I feel Crash 3 blew it out of the water.  The only major difference was relics and special abilities.  The relics were achieved by beating a level in a certain time period and the special abilities were handed out once you beat a boss.

  • Zone - 1 - Tiny Tiger - Body Slam
  • Zone - 2 - Dingerdile - Double Jump
  • Zone - 3 - N. Trophy - Spin Attack
  • Zone - 4 - Dr. N Gin - Bazooka
  • Zone - 5 - Dr. Cortex - Dash Ability
The dashing ability made it easier to receive relics than ever before.  While the bazooka also helped in getting boxes that were hard to reach or kill enemies easier.  Something new also introduced in Crash 3 was the types of levels.  In the first zone you find out immediately, there are swimming levels, riding a tiger through the level, and on a jet ski.  Throughout the game you start riding motorcycles and airplanes shooting down blimps and other airplanes.

Crash 3 is very similar to Crash 2 but is much more varied and presents just a bit tougher challenge.  The bosses on Crash 3 I feel are easier than the ones on Crash 2.  They are both alike in the fact that you need to collect the gems and crystals.  Also there are several secret levels that can be reached.  Two I can think of off the top of my head are, hitting the UFO sign and jumping on the bird, both take you to a secret zone.  The play through on this is fun because it's an addicting game.  I have beaten both games in their entirety over 3 times.
Like Crash 2, Crash 3 is tough to attain a physical copy but it is also on the Playstation Network for cheap.  For 5.99 you can purchase Crash 3 Warped on gamestop.com.

Quick Facts:
  • 1 Player Only
  • Difficulty:  Easy - Medium - Hard

My opinion is a must own game for anyone who has a Playstation 1.  If Playstation re-made this on PS3 with trophy support I would pre-order it the day it came out.  It is one of my favorite games of all time.
